It’s all in the details
Bedrooms are a private haven and the perfect place to indulge yourself with something made specially for you. We recently designed this breathtaking bed for a client in London and commissioned a brilliant upholsterer to make it. They hand-carved the scrolled wooden frame and painstakingly sewed and attached the fabric in individual pieces so that it sheaths the frame like a perfectly made glove.
The art of upholstering fabric onto carved furniture is called 𝘎𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦 and originated in France where it was used on the state beds of Versailles. It is rare now to find upholsterers with the skill required. Truly a bed of dreams!

We chose a beautiful Chinoiserie damask in a subtle sea-green colour that brings its own intricate beauty to complement the exquisite complexity of the de Gournay wallpaper. The overall effect is calming and indulgent.
A bespoke headboard is a beautiful way to bring a bedroom alive.
