Shoreditch, 1890s house – Dining Room
This 1890s terraced house in a covetable neighbourhood of Shoreditch had been stripped of its original features and whitewashed throughout by a previous owner. Our client wisely chose to inject a more flamboyant period character to their home, which we achieved through a carefully modulated blend of Arts and Crafts, Gothic, Aesthetic and High Victorian styles, incorporating rich patterns and colours. The renovation included major building works including the installation of underfloor heating, a new oak floor, and knocking down partition walls. On the decorative side, the project involved the bespoke production of wallpapers, rugs and fabrics and the sourcing of antiques from the UK and Europe. The bathroom is featured in House & Gardens July 2015.
